Principal - Deborah Battams
Deborah has been working at Little Tewkes Nursery since 1995. She started as a nursery nurse and worked her way up “the ladder” and eventually took over the nursery in 2000 from Amelia Blackwell. Deborah has training in sign language, makaton, first aid, food hygiene, child protection certificate, special education needs certificate, business success for child care, and she is an in house assessor and is a registered member of Ofsted and also has a Diploma in Pre-School Early Years. Deborah lives on Canvey Island and is a mother of 2.
Staff Manager - Ruth Peters
Ruth has been working at Little Tewkes Nursery since it was first established, she started off as a nursery assistant and worked her way up to become a Staff Manager. Ruth has a Diploma in Pre-School Early Years, food hygiene, first aid, child protection certificate. Ruth has previously worked in primary schools on Canvey Island. Ruth has 4 children.
Manager - Amie Finning
Amie has worked at Little Tewkes Nursery since 2007, working her way up from Room Manager to Manager. Amie is our SENCo, responsible for any extra provision for children with special educational needs; and our Designated Safeguarding Officer; she also has First Aid, Recruiting Safely and Food Hygiene. Amie has 2 children.
Red Room Manager and Deputy Manager - Leigh-Anne McFall
Leigh-Anne has worked at Little Tewkes Nursery since 2014 starting as a Nursery Practitioner; we were impressed with her way of work that she became Room Manager shortly after and has recently become Deputy Manager. Leigh-Anne has her NVQ 3 in childcare, and is also trained in First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene.
Green Room Manager - Samantha Bannon
Sam has worked at Little Tewkes Nursery since 2006, working her way up from Nursery Practitioner to Room Manager. Sam is trained in First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene.
Lilac Room Manager - Kendal Lane
Kendal has worked at Little Tewkes Nursery since 2017, and has recently worked her way up to become the Room Manager for the Lilac Room. Kendal has her NVQ level 3 in childcare and is also trained in First Aid, safeguarding and Food Hygiene. Kendal has recently had her first child.
Lilac Room Manager - Shannon Emberson-Gotts
Shannnon has worked at Little Tewkes Nursery since 2017, and has recently become the Room Manager for Lilac Room after working alongside Kendal in the Lilac Room. Shannon has her First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene.
